It is no surprise that tattoos/piercings are far less popular with older generations. They tend to see them as signs of criminal personalities due to their negative stereotypes. What adds to this stereotype is that tv shows/movies do the same by associating them with thugs, rebellion, or delinquency. However, this generation is all about breaking the norms of past generations which is why the older generations tend to be the ones who have a bigger issue with them.
